The
IALC has forged strong alliances with other
non-partisan groups--NAACP, American Jewish Committee
(AJC), Organization of Chinese Americans, Koreans,
African Americans, Hispanics, Native Americans and
labor Unions. The IALC actively participated in voter
registration drives, opposed anti-immigrant
legislations (HR 2202, S. 1394) and resisted
restrictions on Civil Rights or Affirmative Action
Programs. Grass roots activism have paved the wry for
the IALC members to serve at the National, State and
County levels in various advisory boards, commissions
and councils. Today when the IALC speak, people listen
and political leadership responds. IALC co-sponsored
round-table discussions and candidate debates in
elections.
Future
Plans: International Expansion of the ILAC
and an annual State wide leadership summits.
Establishment of a community center in Washington,
D.C. area.
